Road Traffic Collision (RTC) Reduction Business Support Assistant

Working Hours:                18.5 hours per week

Salary:                                   Grade 4 (£21,166 to £23,369 pro-rata)

Location:                              Service Headquarters, Kelvedon Park, Essex

About the Role

An opportunity has arisen to protect and save life, property and the environment by supporting the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service RTC Reduction team as a RTC Reduction Business Support Assistant. The role involves duties such as:

  • Scheduling RTC Reduction products and activity including Community Wheels, the Ford Driving Simulator at Waltham Abbey and the Fire Car.
  • Assigning RTC Reduction personnel to events and activities.
  • Being an ambassador for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service when working with the Safer Essex Roads Partnership.
  • Implementing, maintaining and monitoring effective and consistent administrative support processes across all areas of work within the RTC Reduction department.
  • Collating and maintaining relevant activity data and preparing quarterly data for performance reporting

The ideal candidate:

Able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, you will have experience of dealing with communities, managing different stakeholders and maintaining relationships, and communicating with a diverse range of people. You will be enthusiastic about making communities safer, and supporting a vital programme to reduce road traffic collisions in Essex.

You will have a full drivers licence, and able to travel flexibly around the County. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to use your initiative and to be a positive and pro-active force for improvement, alongside the ability to provide a sensitive, diplomatic and confidential service.
