We’re recruiting on-call firefighters at Canvey Island Fire Station.
If you are over 18-years-old and live or work within five minutes of Canvey Island Fire Station, you could become one of more than 500 on-call firefighters in the service.
You can find out more about the role in the coming weeks from firefighters and on-call liaison officers who will be on hand to answer any questions you have:
• Tuesday 26 November – Come and watch our drill night between 7pm and 9pm
• Tuesday 3 December – Come and watch our drill night between 7pm and 9pm
• Thursday 5 December – Drop in between 9am and 8pm to chat to Kim Polley, On-Call Liaison Officer about the role
• Saturday 7 December – Drop in between 10am and 4pm to chat to Kim Polley, On-Call Liaison Officer about the role
What is an on-call firefighter?
On-call firefighters protect their local area by responding to incidents such as fires and road traffic collisions as well as community safety work.
You’ll need to live or work within five minutes of an on-call fire station so that you can respond quickly when paged. You’ll also need to be over 18 years of age and physically fit. Find out more about on-call firefighters.
