We’re currently recruiting on-call firefighters at West Mersea Fire Station.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, we’re unable to welcome visitors at the fire station but can offer virtual meetings with our On-Call Liaison Officers to answer any questions you have about being an on-call firefighter.
To arrange a meeting with an On-Call Liaison Officer, please email mailbox.OCLO@essex-fire.gov.uk with your name, phone number/email address, preferred date/time for a virtual meeting and meeting type preference – Microsoft Teams, FaceTime or phone call.
What is an on-call firefighter?
On-call firefighters protect their local area by responding to incidents such as fires and road traffic collisions as well as community safety work.
You’ll need to live or work within five minutes of an on-call fire station so that you can respond quickly when paged. You’ll also need to be over 18 years of age and physically fit. Find out more about on-call firefighters.
